Designing How FIFA World Cup 2026 Visitors Discover Nuevo León
Hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup was only part of the challenge. As Monterrey prepared to welcome visitors from around the world, the deeper product question was how to give them a trusted and accessible way to discover Nuevo León—not only during the tournament, but throughout their entire stay.
As Product Manager, I led the definition and development of an integrated public service combining fast field registration, physical and digital benefit cards, and an AI-powered WhatsApp assistant grounded in official tourism information. I collaborated across Technology, Legal, Marketing, Operations, and government stakeholders to turn a broad initiative into a reliable product designed for real-world conditions.
Originally conceived with World Cup visitors in mind, the platform evolved into a year-round service for residents across the state. It met its initial target of 14,000 registrations and, within its first two years, delivered approximately 60,000 cards, supported 70,000 unique WhatsApp conversations, and processed nearly one million messages.
